SWE Scholarships support women pursuing ABET-accredited baccalaureate or graduate programs in preparation for careers in engineering, engineering technology and computer science in the United States and Mexico. In 2014, SWE disbursed over 230 new and renewed scholarships valued at more than $700,000.
Scholarships are typically awarded in May (sophomore, junior, senior and graduate students) and July (freshmen and reentry students) for use during the following academic year. Recipients are announced in September.

SWE Baton Rouge Section Scholarships
Scholarship of $1000 available to female applicants who plan to attend the college in fall semester.
It is an one time scholarship for full time LA female students in Computer Science/Data Processing, Engineering/Technology.
Application deadline is April 21.

Society of Women Engineers/SWE Greater New Orleans Section Scholarship
Scholarships available to women pursuing bachelor or graduate degree in an ABET-accredited or SWE-approved schools for engineering, or CSAB/ABET accredited schools, or SWE approved schools for computer science. Available to students from the following parishes: Jefferson, Lafourche, Orleans, Plaquemines, St. Bernard, St. Charles, St. James, St. John, St. Tammany, Tangipahoa, or Terrebonne.
The amount awarded varies.

Louisiana Association of Broadcasters/Broadcast Scholarship Program
The $2,000 scholarship is awarded to LA students enrolled and attending classes, full-time, in a fully accredited broadcast curriculum at a Louisiana four-year college. Must be a Louisiana resident and maintain a minimum 2.5 GPA. Previous LAB Scholarship Award winners are eligible.

James Beard Foundation Inc./The Chefs for Louisiana Cookery Scholarship
Up to one $5900 awards are available to residents of Louisiana who are pursuing a career in the culinary field at an accredited culinary college/university located in the state of Louisiana.
The James Beard Foundation Scholarship Program helps aspiring culinary students realize their dreams by supporting them on a path to success in the rewarding world of the hospitality industry. Professional grants enable those already working in the industry to gain experience and hone their skills.

Louisiana State Department of Education/Robert C. Byrd Honors Scholarship-Louisiana

The scholarship is awarded to applicants who have earned a high school diploma or equivalent (GED) in Louisiana in the same academic year in which the scholarship is to be awarded. Minimum 3.5 GPA and an ACT composite score of 23 or SAT critical reading and math score of 970. Must be a U.S. citizen and legal resident of Louisiana.

Louisiana Office of Student Financial Assistance/Taylor Opportunity Program for Students at Honors Level
The TOPS Honors Award pays for tuition and certain fees at any of the Louisiana Public Colleges and Universities plus an annual stipend of $800. If a student attends a college within the Louisiana Association of Independent Colleges and Universities, the award amount will be the weighted average tuition of public-degree granting schools plus the annual stipend of $800.
Standard Eligibility Requirements
- Minimum High School GPA of 3.00 (GPA computed on core courses only)
- 19.0 Core Units
- Minimum ACT Score (or SAT Equivalent) of 27
- Must enroll full time as a first time freshman, by the first semester following the first anniversary of high school graduation
- Be a US citizen or permanent resident
- Meet TOPS Louisiana Residency requirements
