In most cases, scholarships may be used for tuition, books, utility bills, car maintenance, childcare, or any other financial need that contributes to the recipients' success in school. Free Grants for Junior College
The Legislature and Governor set aside money from within the community college budget to increase awareness about financial aid opportunities and to hire additional staff to provide students with free one-on-one help identifying those opportunities and applying for them. This effort is aimed at low-income high school students, currently enrolled community college students, and other low-income Californians.
Community college financial aid offices historically have been under-funded, and have not had the resources to make sure that all eligible students were aware of the opportunities available to them. The offices also have not had the staff to fully support the application process. However, the funding from this new initiative is helping the campuses reach and assist greater numbers of students.

Service to the country may qualify you for financial assistance in pursuing higher education through any of the programs that apply to your situation.
New Economy Technology Scholarship (NETS)
The Technology Scholarship and the SciTech Scholarship are both awarded through the New Economy Technology Scholarship (NETS) Program. These scholarships make financial aid available to undergraduates studying in approved technology or science fields.
Recipients of these scholarships must agree to work full-time in Pennsylvania following graduation, one year for each academic year that a scholarship award is received.
These scholarships are not based on your financial need.

Partnership For Access To Higher Education (PATH)
PHEAA PATH program offer qualifying students additional financial aid via educational grants. In order to be eligible to receive a PHEAA PATH grant you must first be awarded a scholarship or grant by a participating PHEAA PATH partner.
Loan Forgiveness
Loan forgiveness encourages students to pursue degrees and employment in specific fields. These programs forgive part or all of your educational loan debt if you fulfill certain work-related requirements. You may qualify for this program if you earned an agriculture, veterinary or educational degree, and return to Pennsylvania to work in a qualifying field.
