I grew up poor, but loved dearly by my family. I was at the top of my class in high school, even though I gave birth to Jazmyn during the first semester of my senior year. I continued on to college and did very well (I was on the dean's list), but I had to leave at the beginning of my junior year to better care for my children. I have worked a variety of jobs and lived paycheck to paycheck, but even though we were poor, my children never suffered. There have been many ups and downs in our lives and although there were some times when it seemed useless to go on, I focused on the positive things in our lives and we prevailed.

Amanda Goldberg from Florida - $100.00 winner
It was one thing after the next. I always had high bold pressure and caught everything going around because of stress. I had no health insurance so suffered through most of the problems. I could not afford a lawyer when my son was taken by his dad and the police was no help. His dad never had a place to live, no vehicle and could not hold a job. Through manipulation and begging I got my son back. I worked two jobs and went back to school for Medical secretarial at that time. My son was ADD, ADHD and many other medical needs presented themselves because his father did a lot of drugs.  I had to leave my jobs because he was always being sent home from school. I moved around a lot and tried to home school him the best I could.

Now I haven't told you much of the type of person I am so I will now before my husband I was a very confident women and had a lot of admirers and besides it all I'm a very loving, friendly person. Also when it comes to a relationship I don't like to fight. Anyway I told him from the beginning not to be unfaithful to me because I would find out and also that I was the type of women that you could be honest and say anything to. If he have a problem with me he could tell me and if he felt I was not sufficient in anyway to let me know and instead of cheating if we weren't working out he could tell me and I would separate him with no problem as long as he was honest. Back to the story when my husband began to do his thing my self esteem dropped straight to the floor.

My step father was beating up on my mother and I was standing in the middle battling him as if I were a man just to protect.  After the police would come it would end up being my fault, but I maintained my status at school and no one knew, but a few people.  I feel head over heels in love with Roy Graham.  I would start to run to him for protect and comfort.  My step father was telling people in the neighbor that he was having sex with me and just ruining my name with all these terrible lies.  I was only sixteen why couldn't he just leave me alone. Then I found out I was pregnant.

Niecey from Cheektowaga, New York - $50.00 winner
I am a 39 year single mom of 3 small children ranging from ages 5 years old, 20 months old, and 5 months old.  At the time of me becoming "Suddenly Single", I was only 4 months pregnant.  I don't know how I've made it thus far.

Nicole from Norfolk, Virginia - $125.00 winner
This is the first time I've visited this site and I sit here crying, I'm not the only single parent struggling to give my kids a decent life....As I struggled at home to make ends meet and to keep up a happy face at work, I found out that the children's father had become engaged to another woman while he was on deployment in Japan. I was so shattered and miserable and alone, I felt like nothing I did was good enough for the kids and no one would ever care about us or know how wonderful our little family was. got a letter from their father 3 months after our second son was born saying it wasn't going to work, and asking me to take care of his 2 oldest children from his first marriage. We didn't hear from him for 6 months, and he has since agreed to give me legal custody of our children, as well as his first 2 children. Up until now it's taken every bit of strength I have to get through this alone

Amanda from San Diego - $100.00 winner
Peyton starts school in two weeks and I have no way of buying her school clothes.  She has just about grown out of everything and the only things that fit her are summer clothes.  Her dad is no where to be found to collect child support, and my family is not in a situation where they can help me.  I don't know what I am going to do, or how I am going to buy her winter clothes this year.  Since my little girl is the oldest out of all of my friends kids, there are no hand me downs to ask for.  We are the ones who usually hand down the clothes. I just don’t know what I am going to do.

Brittney from Greenwood, South Carolina - $75.00 winner
My mother had me on her 18th birthday.  Three days later, my father was killed in a car accident.  After that happened, my mother gave up on life.  That left a little brown eyed girl in a big world all alone.  I am the brown eyed girl.  So, from the time I was born, I guess you could say that I have taken care of myself.  I went through my teenage years trying to hide my pain.  I always heard the phrase, "Don't end up like your mother".  But, being a troubled teen with so much inside, I also became a teenage mother. My son is 16 months old now, and he is no mistake at all.  My son WILL live the life that I always dreamed of.  And I am the only one that can make sure of that.
